This is the time you will request me a new home office.
It’s the 2020 latest trend.
Due to the Covid, of course. But I’m so happy that so many people want to have their own working space, functional and stylish, and refusing to work in a small corner of the home.
Carla, my client, would like to transform one of her sons' rooms in her new home office. It’s a bright space, in a penthouse surrounded by the green, in a vintage building. But with a dark bookshelf, a small desk and it’s not inspiring her work. She wants to hang a modern big painting she has and from its colour I started to study the design. As the first step it’s very important to understand which are the essential client requests: colours, desk position, natural and artificial light. And, for me, it’s important to listen to all the dreams and wishes the client wants. And I listen a lot. I love to understand. Probably it reminds me of my psychology exams at the university.
And while she was talking to me I noticed her desk chair: a Chesca Chair by Marcel Breuer. One of the trends of the last year and one of the most iconic and imitated chairs in the world! Amazing.
I thought I could start from the painting, the chair but I needed the WOW effect.
Carla is a literature teacher, she loves to be surrounded by her books and she tells me she wants an “inspirational environment”. I have the right element: the Zettler’s Chandelier by Ingo Maurer.
Then I added all the furniture and the accessories to complete the design and I submitted the project to her. Carla replied back in a few hours. We are going to style the new home office!
Waiting for the before and after I let you dream on the mood board of how I will transform this space. But, if you need immediately new adce I let you the link of how I realize a fabulous desk with few elements.
