If, before now, you looked to sell your home, this is the best time for organising it.
I’m not asking you to do home staging. I’ll take care of this later. It’s my job.
At the moment, what you can do, it’s the decluttering. So, to make room for ….
This could be also a good exercise of style for keeping the house tidy and for running away the negative thoughts of this period.
It’s a way to live easier, slowly, just surrounded by what it’s really important for you.
Here some rules to begin.
Dump the unnecessary
I don’t mean deprive but exactly make room. You are selling your home and you have to make room of the buyer’s ideas.
He needs to see a house clear from the unused stuff or the personal one, thus he can see how the space is distributed and how big is a room.
And it’s useful for you when it will be time for moving (and, between us, less to clean and dust)
Tag
If you don’t want to lose your mind you have to group by category your stuff.
Clothes, tableware and kitchen utensils, decorations, electrical, … everything needs a place. When you will finish it will be easy to understand what you have to throw away, resell, recycle or box.
Pack
We have to think about what we want to keep. Because of they are our memories, or they will be nice or useful in the new home. But, at this very moment, they must not be visible.
For two reasons. First of all: it’s your personal stuff. It doesn’t invite the potential buyer to dream his future home. Second one: if you pack them now do you know how quickly you can move to your new home?
Take your time
Don’t think to do all this work in one day. You have to consider your emotional part, that it will be thrilled in the first hours and then it will going down.
Up and down through the memories in everything you touch, you pack, you dump.
So, take your time. If you feel this emotions and go through them you can do the best choice. It’s also lovely to relive memories and say goodbye to them.
