Yesterday I styled a set for an advertising. I have bought some figs to take pictures because I needed purple colour and a natural style
to emphasize the product. But when I finished I realized that I don't like figs but I don't want to waste food.
Fig is a flower, do you know it? It is like a bouquet of small flowers surrounded by the peel. Nature is amazing!
Thus I decide, with only 4 small figs, to make, for the first time of my life, a fig jam.
I peeled the figs and I cut them in small pieces. Then I added a little of lemon juice and a spoon of sugar.
I cover the mix for 30 minutes (I don't know why but I thought it was the right way to make a tasty jam).
Do you know how many things you can do waiting for the jam? In these 30 minutes I decided to wash the curtains.
Unbelievable!
I put the pot with my figs on the fire with 3 spoons of water and I bubbled my ingredients for nearly 15 minutes waiting for sugar to do the magic (I know, I'm like Alice in Wonderland sometimes).
With my incredible surprise I made my first fig jam, ready to be serve tomorrow morning for breakfast. I was so happy that I cooked also the ciambellone all'acqua, an Italian cake, but this is another story.
